Here’s more about what we do

  • We’ll send you a secure CSV file and report that covers the health of your mobile database:

    • Your data in its original state
    • Your data in a linked and transformed state
      • Reformmated Number to E.164 format (consistent mobile format with country code)
    • Status in relation to validity of the Number
    • Original Telco Provider of the number
    • Current Telco Provider of the number
    • An analysis of the % of your database that should be removed
    • Recommendations on how you could improve your database
  • Your data cleanse report is at a moment in time update. While our tools allow us to access more information, we will not show:

    • Roaming status

    If you think real-time roaming data could help you, then an API connection might be better for you. Talk to your Account Manager about what we can do.

  • We can accept almost any standard spreadsheet format, but prefer

    • Excel for under 1 million records; or
    • CSV files for larger databases.

    While we will take the data in via secure channels, we strongly recommend also putting additional password protections and providing that password via an alternative channel (we think SMS is a great option!)

  • Using a secure connection, we will provide your data back to you in its original state and with additional columns in the transformed (re-formatted or tagged) state and an analysis report.

    Transformed data

    Transformed data simply means the data that you provided in a new format – we won’t override your existing information, we add an extra column to your customer record. That means you can map your original information to the new information at a single customer record view and see how the data has been changed.

    Analysis report

    Your analysis report will be a summary of the data we took in (ingestion), the checks and processes we ran (formatting and validation) and the outcomes we saw (analysis).

    This will be a table summary that you can talk over with your account manager.

  • We will provide the information back to you in the same format you gave it to us.

    So, if you provided an Excel file, we’ll send it back that way. If you sent a csv. file, we’ll pop it back to you this way.

    Most importantly, we’ll be sending it securely in the way that you choose.

  • An HLR Lookup is an industry recognised process that sends a request to telco operators (like Telstra, Vodafone, Verizon) and provides information back including:

    • The current status of that number (if it’s a real number, if it’s in service or if it’s a dead number)
    • The first telco provider for that number (so, when it was first established)
    • Porting information (if the number has been moved from one telco provider to another)

    We will not give you information on of ownership (that is names), specific dates of when telcos have established or moved the number, or any personal information.

    While HLR Lookups can also provide extra information (like international roaming), it will not be part of your report because this is ‘active’ (or changeable information) not ‘static’ information that is unlikely to change frequently.

  • All our data cleanse processes are ‘on-demand’, which means when we run it, it’s using the most current and live data possible in the tools and connectors we have.

    We will never use Cached (or point-in-time) results, like some providers.

    It means that you’ll have the most up-to-date information possible at the time-stamp of your report.

  • We will provide a summary report that covers the following key insights:

    • Number of records ingested from you
    • Number of your records that are invalid due to format (for instance missing digits)
    • Number of your records that are invalid based on HLR Lookup
    • Number of your records that are now valid (post formatting to E.164 standard)
    • Overall % for each of the above values

    Your account manager can talk through any questions you may have.

  • The most important thing with a mobile phone database clean is that it needs to be a continuous process. Mobile numbers can become invalid for both poor formatting and because mobile numbers can churn.

    Our experience recommends quarterly cleanses to identify churned numbers and build a longitudinal profile of your customer base data quality and proactively fix any poor quality in a more timely way.

    The team can also help you build strategies to continually collect better quality numbers consistently and build your database.
